Welcome!
The PTE works very hard to create a better learning environment for our children. Our primary focus is to raise funds to support the school by purchasing items that normally are not available to the school. For example, in 2009 the PTE raised over $60,000 to install new playground equipment. Through the Wish List grant program, the PTE has purchased such items as smart boards, exercise equipment, and cameras and video cameras. The PTE also provides financial support for 2nd grade Distinguished Scholar awards and presentation, 4th grade Heritage Days, 5th grade graduation party, indoor and outdoor recess equipment, and much more!
The PTE is blessed with parents and teachers that are dedicated and committed to our children. Any parent or guardian or other person standing "in loco parentis" of a child attending Eagle Elementary and all staff members or retired staff members of Eagle Elementary, are eligible for membership. A voting member shall be any eligible person who has provided the Board of Directors with their name, address, phone number and email (if any) at least ten days prior to any vote. Membership shall remain in force so long as the member remains eligible and has not provided notice of resignation to the Board of Directors. The PTE does not not require dues to be paid. Even if you are unable to volunteer time we hope that you keep up with the activities of the PTE and provide us with your thoughts and suggestions by either contacting a PTE officer or Committee Chair. Grants awarded to Eagle PTE
We have received word this that the EaglePTE earned two grants over the summer.
The first one was from IBM for $2000.00. "The IBM Community Grants program recognizes and encourages the involvement of IBM employees and retirees who generously volunteer their time and talents in their local communities." (Taken from the IBM website) The IBM Community Grant was awarded to the EaglePTE through the volunteer hours completed by Brandie Humphrey, President of EaglePTE. The second grant awarded was from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality for $1,049.00. The NEDQ grant was a 25% reimbursement grant awarded to the EaglePTE for using rubber mats on the playground that were made from recycled tires. The reimbursement is for the rubber tiles we installed last August at the bottom of the tornado slide. Congrats EaglePTE for the hard work and the $3,049.00 that we can put to use for the kids at Eagle Elementary. And thanks to Brandie for putting in volunteer hours! |
